Pamela Baker-Miller and her grandmother Connie own and operate Frances May, a carefully curated fashion boutique in downtown Portland that stocks some of the best independent designers around. After several successful years of business focusing on women’s fashion, they wanted to expand into the men’s market, and decided it was time to re-brand the store.
Built on the nostalgia of elementary school flashcards, stickers of approval and library book slips, the design concept solidifed around the vintage classroom aesthetic– inspired by the past career of the store’s namesake who was a school teacher, and also Pamela’s great-grandmother.
