Our friend Jasen Bowes at Property Of had a sizeable booth at the 2010 NY Int’l Gift Fair and a lot of new bags to debut. We designed a modular structure of colorful, reclaimed barn siding with an assembly of found coat hooks to display the new line of product. We assembled the huge thing in Portland and shipped it out (with fingers crossed) to NYC.
The central spread of bags was flanked by chalkboard walls, and a large table made from a sizeable piece of reclaimed glue lam held small accessories, along with other curated props. To serve as a calling card and a giveaway for curious passersby, we sketched up a few Scout Books with Jasen’s “card” on the back.
In a sea of white plastic and vinyl, we definitely felt like we “weren’t from around here.”
